Project:
‘Animals and research, why? A transmedia approach to shape public knowledge of animal research', led by Tommaso Virgilio, researcher at the Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB).
The project focuses on the creation of a video podcast that addresses, in a popular style, various topics related to scientific research and the use of animals, from why we need animal research to the regulations governing it to the alternatives and principles that guide it, in particular that of the ‘3 R's’ (replace, reduce, refine).

The project has been developed in the context of USI's transparency and awareness-raising strategy on animal research and also includes a website and a travelling installation with online and in-presence initiatives to increase knowledge on animal experimentation and encourage open exchange between the scientific community and citizens.

The project won an Animal Research Tomorrow Awards for Science Communication https://www.usi.ch/it/feeds/24703
